About Us
Able & Baker Studio is a printmaking studio in San Francisco, California. We are dedicated to the art and craft of innovative, environmentally safe, and non-toxic printmaking. We specialize in etching, lithography, and screen printing for both commissioned and personal projects. Along with traditional printmaking, we create handmade paper, made-to-order piñatas, reusable bar coasters made of recycled beer and wine boxes, and custom wallpaper and fabric. We also hand sew bags, pillows, and handkerchiefs made of old sailboat sails and leftovers from textile manufacturers.
We believe in creating high-quality hand-crafted niche products. Able & Baker utilizes sustainable practices and uses planet-friendly materials and chemicals (even down to the process). Also, we try to use recycled textiles whenever possible.
The Studio
Able & Baker is located a beautiful, bright, 1800 sq. ft. studio in the historic and vibrant Mission District of San Francisco, California. The studio provides capabilities for intaglio, monotype, screen print, papermaking, woodcut, linocut, letterpress, book arts, sewing, black and white photo development, and other various mixed media techniques.

After graduating in May of 2008, she moved to New York City, where she worked as an art assistant for The Onion and as a production coordinator for BIGSTAR Motion Graphics Studio. Kerry was hired as an art assistant and installer for a show at the SFMOMA late 2009, where she and Anne decided to merge forces and become partners in creative crime.

Beer
Able & Baker Studio is also home to Soflanoca Brewery, the makers of exceptional (and sometimes peculiar) artisinal beer. It’s the brainchild of South Florida natives, Brian Came and Cassandra Mauceri, who both wound up in San Francisco. That’s how they got the name (SOuth FLoridA to NOrthern CAlifornia). It’s a simple equation: add Cassandra’s wily culinary stylings to Brian’s aptitude for improvisational engineering plus their combined passion for craft beer equals some fine, fine brews. What once started in a kitchen in the Richmond District has since moved to Able & Baker to increase production volume. Currently, Brian brews beer in small batches at the studio and collaborates with Cassandra to create new and unique beers even while she’s busy in Florida promoting and researching new brews in the south.
Some of their flagship beers include Down and Dirty “Root” Beer (a sweet potato, cocoa, chili porter) and Da Fig (brown ale brewed with figs and black pepper). Look for Soflanoca Brewery events on the calendar page!
